Masion Brotte Les Hauts de Barville Chateauneuf du Pape (Blanc) 2014

Clean, fresh and dancing with a lively yellow tint in the glass and lifting to the nose. Citrus notes of pineapple, lemon, and tangerine lead the attack. Honeysuckle and lanolin pick up the mid-palate. The deft mouthfeel is round, but not at all heavy. I suspect the Picpoul is keeping the feel on the medium to light side. While not an outstanding wine, it’ll do and do quite well. Perhaps a bit on the young side just now. A blend of about equal parts of Picpoul, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne and Marsanne. 13.5% alc. With roasted chicken under a walnut-mushroom sauce. 03.11.17. Recommended.
