2009 David Coffaro Carignan Dry Creek Valley

This has held up remarkably well. Bright, slightly translucent red in color. Lovely nose of cherries and violets. Lush cherry fruit, bit of cracked black pepper and anise. Some sharp spice comes in on the midpalate. Fine tannins, great acidity and balance. Long finish with a savory element. Not complex, but tasty. Oh, not a hint of heat from the 14.9% ABV. This was my last bottle but, if you have any, it should hold up well for another 3 years or so. "B+"
