Darker purple core but has some clarity, lively rust red rims, not showing all that much age. The nose is still wound up, ripe cherry center, more strawberry than black fruit scents, murmur of cinnamon stick damp cocoa powder and dewy meadow grasses and earth, on the whole there's a fecund quality to the nose which fills it out. Light to medium-bodied, generally sour and showing some dill notes. The acidity is okay and likely not the culprit for any tartness. Earthy, leathery, cedary, taking on a maturing profile. The cherry, cranberry, raspberry fruit tends to pull up at the finish. White grapefruit and broken stone bits dominate the finish. Feels crafted yet there's something about it which is uneven, if not turbulent.
