Terre di Volcano Aglianico Del Vulture DOC

I really like this wine. I've been drinking it through many vintages and continue to be impressed with it. In my market it is only $13.99 and seems like a good deal to me. It's fun to drink because you don't get the same wine every time. There's a certain amount of variety with it, almost always in a positive sense but occasionally not so much. The wine can show all kinds of flavors but dominated by black raspberry and coffee on a drying structure. Drinks well by itself and is probably better with food. The oak is not obvious, if any. I wouldn't be surprised if it improved with aging.

I also like their more expensive offering, Guadarra (sp?. It certainly is more modern but it's intense with intelligent oak and I'd love to drink more of it than I do.
