While the liquid is clear and unblemished, the core is black enough to achieve opacity, has wide burnt sunset red to brick red rims but doesn't look like it is "maturing" per se. Full throttle nose of cinnamon, ginger spice, blackberry, black cherry, blueberry fruit, milk chocolate as well as smoky, grilled meat fat, only very light menthol notes and it there's a heady alcoholic feel to it too. Full-bodied, lush and fluid, nothing clunky about it. Can't discern much tannin or acidity, which may contribute to the weakening grip through the finish. Ginger snaps, cinnamon spiced orange peel and chocolate Ovaltine set the stage for the blueberry, boysenberry, cherry fruit, only flirts with red fruit such as raspberry. Sweet yet not sugary in a ramshackle fashion. Probably need to drink up soon before the fruit fades and the alcohol becomes more dominant.
