2014 Carlisle Zinfandel Carlisle Vineyard Russian River Valley
Sage and blackberries on the nose. Precise dark fruits, a lot of minerality, blackberries, cherries. The cherry notes become more forward with air. Fine tannins, nice acidity and balance. Finishes long with minerals, blackberries, spice. Lovely, but I still think this is an early drinker (for a Carlisle). It's more lean and minerally than lush and expressive. I'd drink over the next 2 to 3 years. Somewhere between a "B+" and an "A-".
