This is one of the Carlisles we tried Wed at Pig+Fig:
1. Carlisle PinotNoir MartaellaVnyd/RRV/SonomaCnty (13.6%) 2017: Med.dark color; strong black cherry/PN/ripe/black cherry cola strong toasty/pencilly/Fr.oak some complex beautiful intense nose; fairly tart strong black cherry/black cherry cola/PN/bit RCCola strong toasty/Fr.oak fairly perfumed w/ modest ripe tannins; very long/lingering fairly intense PN/black cherry/black cherry colabit peppery strong toasty/Fr.oak some complex structured finish w/ modest tannins; a pretty big/structured Pinot that can use another 3-6 yrs. $65.00

1. This is, I believe, Mike's only PinotNoir that he's made. Not at all sure why he wanted to try his hand at a Pinot. But he did a very good job at it. Tastes like a Pinot made by a Zin producer & very much in a style you'd expect from Mike.

I'm holding a bottle of this. Just curious about the oak on this. From your description that is more of an oak influence than I'm used to seeing (tasting) in Mike's wines.
