Comm. G.B. Burlotto Barolo Monvigliero 2004

14% imported by Triage Wine, Seattle, WA

Neither of us liked this wine. It was young, weird and didn't taste at all like a barolo or an Italian wine. Just a weird flavor that dominated. No depth or anything.Almost poured it out. No obvious flaws. I don't seem to have the transcendental experiences everyone else has with these young wines of pedigree. Bought on release directly from the warehouse.

Thanks

Actually I am pretty sure this was the 2001 instead. I was photographing the recent empties and found the 2001 but not the 2004. It makes sense that a pop and pour on a 2001 cru wouldn't work out very well. I struggled to find the wine in the first place so probably saw the Burlotto label and forgot that I had a 2001 at all. My loss as this was my only 2001 and I am certainly not going to be able to replace it for my cost ($44)!
