Needs a ton of work but the foundation is set down and I am in the process of moving stuff over from the old site to the new one.

If any regulars want blogs here, it can be worked out now.

Unfortunately the login for the forum and the rest of the site is separate for now.

Some things need an account to use/see, like submitting links.

Just hit the banner at the top of this page to see it.

I may want to do a blog. Not that have that much to say but it may be interesting to do. Any general guidelines you have in mind yet?

No porn, no violence! blush

People can do whatever they want as long as it is not illegal and forcing me to get involved. Doesn't have to be only wine.

I am thinking of doing restaurants reviews locally, will likely have a beer section and pub review. Travel pics, etc., etc.

Plus I am open minded to continue to develop that side of this thing, there is great ability for upgrades on this.

Thanks Sean, it's easier than what it has been, that is for sure.

When I get it wired down, I will rework the forums to match it, but that will likely take awhile.

Brad,

The background on the site is now showing as blindingly white (at least on my computer). It's frankly painful to look at for very long. Is there a way to change the background color?

agreed Charlie, and the font is too small for these old eyes, as well.

on the forum I switched the font to 10 pt yesterday.
The font size on the main size ranges from 10 to 14.

??????

Where are you talking about?

As far as the white background, not sure if I can substantially change that. I'll see what I can do.

The font on the new front page is/was just fine for me. The white is not too bright either.

OK, do you know that you can pick different color schemes from the link at the bottom of the page?

There is a drop down menu located right below the calendar and there are four different themes there.

I am trying to get the one you appear to be looking at to match the rest of the site, which I recently upgraded and it is really white so you might not like it. eek

I will try to add a couple more variations off of this theme that I am working on. I would suggest trying all the others until you find one you like.

I can make as many of them as I like, so if there is something that you are looking for, just let me know and I will do my best to accommodate you.

Brad,

Thanks. The Gold and Red styles create a less bright background for the text (although I'd go with gold since that much red has it's own issues). A non white background for text would be really helpful, but I'll live with whatever is there.

Thanks for the input, I'll work on a few different setups.

I've only gotten decent at css in the past 1.5 years. It boggled my mind a couple years back but I am getting it well enough to work on a few styles.

I always used the less_garish style sheet myself.

One thing I have come to realize is that no single style can satisfy everyone's legitimate needs. Beyond typical style preferences there are tons of people with varying degrees of NEED be it due to physical problems or visual problems.

I can work on a number of issues but can never solve them all. At this point, color in the forums is pretty easy to solve, so I will work on it.

Hold the "CNTRL" and "+" keys down at the same time to get a zoom in and essentially get a larger font size. Also allows you to miss most of the backgroud, if that's too bright.
