TablasCreekVnyd Picpoul Blanc Estate/PasoRobles (14.2%) 2014: Med.gold color; quite stony/mineral/chalky some floral/carnations/apple blossom quite fragrant bit complex nose; quite tart/tangy (lip-stinger?...no) some stony/mineral beautiful/exotic floral/very jasmine/some carnations/apple blossom some lean/wirey/tangy very perfumey lovely flavor; very long/lingering somewhat tart/tangy very strong floral/jasmine/bit carnations/apple blossom rather brisk/refreshing/vibrant bit stony/chalky/mineral finishblows away any Picpuol de Pinet I've had because of the floral/jasmine character; developing beautifully in the btl and will go another 3-5 yrs; very exotic jasmine character. $28.00 (VIN)

Forlorn-Hope Picpoul RorickVnyd/CalaverasCnty (12.62%; 152 cs) Murphys 2015: Light gold color; quite stony/mineral/chalky slight funky/mousey/hantavirus/wet wool that clears rather apple/quince interesting nose; very tart/lean/citric/lemony strong stony/mineral/chalky bit earthy flavor; very long tart/tangy/citric/lemony fairly stony/chalky/bit earthy finish; much more like a P'dP but strong lemony character & more richness; a brisk/refreshing expression of Picpoul. $30.00

1. Picpoul comes from the French term for "lip-stinger". Not a whole lot planted in Calif & most commonly found as Picpoul d'Pinet. I was mightly impressed by how the TablasCreek had developed a very strong floral character since its release.
