Comm. G.B. Burlotto Barolo Vigneto Monvigliero 2001

14% imported by Triage Wine, Seattle, WA

(I thought I was drinking the 2004 instead, which was reputed to be a Pop'n'Pour type wine. I had no idea it was the 2001, which I would have never opened now and without decanting. Too bad as I can't replace this wine as prices have gone through the roof. Didn't realize the mistake until I started taking the photos.)

Neither of us liked this wine. It was young, weird and didn't taste at all like a barolo or an Italian wine. Just a weird flavor that dominated. No depth or anything. Almost poured it out. No obvious flaws. I don't seem to have the transcendental experiences everyone else has with these young wines of pedigree. Bought on release directly from the warehouse.

Thanks
Fraser
