Three Sticks Chardonnay Alana Vineyard Russian River Valley
We tasted the 2016 version of this wine at the winery this past June and were blown away. The 2017 measures up to its predecessor. This wine came into its own as it warmed. A lovely nose of spice and pears. Crisp fruit, lemons, pears, spice. Barely a hint of oak, the fruit is clean and crisp. Lovely acidity and fine balance. A warm spice note on the mid-palate accents the fruit from the front of the palate. It finishes long and lively with citrus and spice notes. Lovely stuff, it never becomes cloying or heavy as many California Chards do. Crisp and clean. Just let it warm up and a decant would be a good idea. "A"
