My latest Bedrock ordered last week, so tried:
1. Bedrock Staves of Waidhofen SauvBlanc SonomaVlly/SonomaCnty (14.1%; 74% Uboldi/26% JudgeFamily vnyds;
www.BedrockWineCo.com) 2018
: Med.gold color; lovely very fragrant ripe/honeydew melon rather floral/gardenias slight pencilly/oak almost muscat-like/perfumed nose; rather tart/tangy/lemony slight pencilly/oak strong melony/honeydew/SB some floral/gardenias fairly rich/lush balanced bit complex flavor; very long/lingering lush/ripe/floral/gardenias/SB/honeydew almost Muscat-like finish; almost reminds a lot of Sauvignon Musque in its perfume; a beautiful SB that reminds some of the best from Friuli/Slovenia or SudStiermark; one of the best in Calif SB. $28.00

2. Bedrock Zin OldVine Calif (14.4%; Avg vine age > 80 yrs; Drk: 11/19-11/29: MTP; 85% Zin + Mataro/Grenache/AlicanteBouschet/Carignan/PetiteSirah; Vnyds: Bedrock/Teldeschi/Esola/Pagani/Papera/Evangelho/Pato) 2018: Med.dark color; strong spicy/raspberry/Zinberry/blackberry some dusty/OV fairly toasty/smokey/oak bit plummy/ContraCosta some briary quite attractive nose; lightly tart bit rough/rustic/earthy strong raspberry/blackberry/Zin/fairly spicy some earthy/dusty/OV flavor w/ some rough/raspy tannins; very long strong raspberry/blackberry/very spicy/Zin bit toasty/oak some dusty/OV bit rough/gritty finish w/ ample rough tannins; lacks the high-toned character of most of the Bedrock Zins; a bit on the rough/gritty side and badly needs a yrs of age; another Bedrock OV steal. $19.00

A wee BP:
1. Waidhofen: This is the village where Franz Stockinger makes his barrels.
Stockinger
Stockinger/Trevallon
These are regarded as the ne plus ultra of oak barrels. They are imported into the US by RajPaar and JaimieMotley.

Really?! As good as Peter Michael? As good as MacLaren? As good as Ch. Boswell's Jacqueline? As good as Mondavi To Kalon Fumé Blanc?
