Thought this was an interesting study cited in this Wines & Vines article that came out yesterday:
How Useful Is a Wine Expert's Opinion?

Seems like the implication is that the more one knows about wine, the more one's likes and dislikes fit into one or more norms shared by the "experts" while the preferences of the broader group of wine consumers don't fit so easily into these norms. I think that's true of many things besides wine and shouldn't be too surprising. But it's a good reminder that our views on wine here on WCWN are probably pretty narrow in comparison to the vast majority of wine consumers. It would be interesting to read the original study on this.
