Etude Wines Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 1999

Four years ago, this wine simply needed more time. It wasn’t showing much and didn’t provide much enjoyment back then. Now, it’s a very different story. Both the bouquet and flavors are deep and rich with cassis, black cherry, leather, tobo, mint, cinnamon, currant and eucalyptus. The mouthfeel is silky smooth; the tannins fully integrated and smooth. Good heft on the tongue. This is everything you could ask from a Napa Cab. More time may reward, but the wine is currently in a very good place. Throwing some heavy sediment in the last pour. 14.7% alc. With grilled beef ribeyes with a mushroom cognac sauce. 03.22.14. Recommended.
