Ridge Vineyards Lytton Springs Dry Creek Valley Sonoma Co. Ca 2003

The color appears to have shaded from deep magenta to a deep red burgundy from core to rim. The nose fills with cinnamon, rhubarb, rose petals, dusty rose, and sweet red, jammy fruits. That all appears on the palate, but is fleshed out with caramel and Draper Perfume. The attack and mid-palate are short and move along quickly, too quickly. The finish too is short and sharp. While it’s a well made wine, it doesn’t satisfy as much as it once did. Some sediment. A blend of 76% Zin, 18% Pets and 6% Carignane. 14.3% alc. With pork ribs, the first of the year. 04.05.14. Recommended.
