We tried this dessert wine this week:
1. Gini ColFoscarin DOCG: Recioto di Soave Classico (13.5%; Garganega) Monteforte d'Alpone 2006: Deep gold/burnished bronze color; slighht volatile/pickle juice intense grapey/appricoty/peach syrup slight cedary/pencilly bit alcoholic rather complex some Sauternes-like noze; fairly tart rather sweet intense apricotty/peach syrup/botrytis/fruit cocktail/very grapey slight earthy quite rich/lush flavor; very long/lingering rather tart/rich/lush intense grapey/botrytis/peach syrup/apricotty slight earthy finish; somewhere between a passito & a Sauternes; not the high-toned notes of a Sauternes and a bit more like a Monbazillac or Jurancon; quite a good dessert wine at a great price. $20.00/hlf

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Probably about the best of the 7-8 Recioto Soaves that I've tried.
