Selbach Oster Pinot Blanc Mosel 2014

Pale straw in color, but there is nothing “pale” about this wine! The nose is alive with pear, orange blossom, honey suckle and a touch of diesel. The palate precisely follows the nose in every respect delivering bright, clean flavors on a firm frame of fruit and acidity. Nothing is out of place with this wine. Good QPR too! 12.5% alc. With Monte Cristo sandwiches. 01.05.17. Recommended.

Pierre Gaillard Saint-Joseph (Blanc) Rhone 2012

A nose of lanolin, white flower, lemon oil, and lychee. The palate precisely traces the nose, but with more developed notes and additional flavors of apple, butter, with a finish of both diesel (very light) and anise. The lengthy finish trails forever. 13.5% alc. With chicken cordon bleu. 01.12.17. Recommended with a nod toward Highly Recommended.
