Tried these over the last few days:
1. OjaiVnyd White (14%) NV (ca.2003): Deep golden color; rather oxidized old/tired Chard character; not much left here.

2. OjaiVnyd Syrah ThompsonVnyd (14.5%) 2001: Dark color w/ some browning; rather putrid/mousey/hantavirus/mouse crap nose w/ no fruit; pretty much dead&gone.

OjaiVnyd PinotNoir MelvilleVnyd/SantaRitaHills (14.0%) 2002: Dark color w/ some bricking; very strong toasty/oak/smokey/Burgundian rather strong PN/black cherry/boysenberry/very spicy slight RCCola/root beer(Dad's) somewhat smokey/Burgundian quite complex nose; rather tart strong PN/black cherry/RCCola some smokey/toasty/Burgundian oak light earthy rather complex slight Burgundian flavor w/ light smooth/gentle tannins; very long/lingering strong toasty/smokey/Burgundian oak rather strong PN/black cherry/boysenberry/spicy/earthy fairly tart quite complex finish w/ light gentle/silky tannins; quite an attractive fully-mature Calif/cold-climate PN that reminds some of the old Hanzell PN's; no signs of oxidation or heat-damage or any tired character; quite a lovely fully-mature Calif PN,

OjaiVnyd Syrah RollRanchVnyd/Calif (15.0%) 2002: Very dark color w/ no bricking; very strong blackberry/boysenberry/Syrah/ripe/licorice light toasty/smokey/Ojai oak bit earthy/dusty/smokey rather complex bit old Cornas nose; soft strong smokey/toasty/Ojai oak strong blackberry/Syrah/bit peppery/boysenberry slight roasted/oldCornas flavor w/ light bit drying/tangy tannins; very long somewhat soft slight tangy/metallic strong blackberry/boysenberry/ripe/Syrah strong toasty/smokey/oak slight Rhonish/smoked meats bit peppery lovely complex finish w/ light bit drying tannins; still in beautiful shape but probably nearing the downward death spiral.

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. These were all from my recently discovered orphan stash, stored upright under terrible conditions in the garage for 13+ yrs. The cork on the Thompson totally disintegrated upon removal w/ an Ah-So, so clearly there had been a lot of O2 ingress. The corks on the other 3 were all sound and tight.
