Vietti Barolo Rocche 1989

13.5% Imported by Premiere Wine Merchants, NY

This is the Rocche vineyard in Castiglione Falletto, not to be confused with others by the same name.

Drunk at the end of a very long week, I have nothing detailed to report other than this is obviously a very nice and well made wine (in the making?). While it was obvious that it is a very good wine, it still seems to be more about potential than current enjoyment. My wife was very impressed with it. I'm sure I didn't decant long enough. Fine tannins, obviously well made wine which got better as we drank it. Very smooth and not an aggressive wine. I will drink my remaining bottle in 5, 10 or 20 years, at which point I think it could be an amazing wine.

Thanks
