Edelzwicker Reserve
Very matured golden color that borders on amber, however, remains clean and layers deeply into the glass. Honeyed nose with fading echo of rubber, at this point the yeastiness has moved centerstage and flattened the overall aromas, concentrated apricot, peach, pear fruit more floral than sugary, pleasing enough but lost intensity. In the mouth it is medium-bodied with substantial dry extract, the acidity has held up well. That said, lacks energy and the dough, yeast element permeates throughout. Spiced orange and tangerine citrus give it some pep and minty, floral as well. Here you get more of a tropical edge to the fruit, pineapple, papaya, kiwi as well as the basics of peach, apricot. In its sunset years for sure. Unspecified percentages of Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris, Muscat.
