Blanc de Noirs
Pinot Noir
Brownish touch to the gold, orange rust hue, moderate shine, wide dispersion to the bubbles. Honeyed nose, brioche, orange peel, molasses, this balanced out some by grass, stone notes, brings dense peach, apricot, pear fruit scents with a mildly poached quality. Full-bodied, bottom heavy even, though does have a fairly tight weave, sweet and dense. Honeyed, doughy, bready, with a touch of caramel. The acidity has verve enough to cut through the flab. Pleasing lift from the smoky sauna stone element. On the whole it's big and borderline boisterous, has no problem getting in your face. No idea what aging would add (or subtract) from the experience.
