Pecota, Robert
Napa Valley, California
Kara's Vineyard
Cabernet Sauvignon
Gauzy, the core is fully opaque and black, diminished yellow to brick red rims, visually fully aged. The nose is advanced in a layered manner with peanut shell, damp leather, wet meadow grasses, candied orange peels, smoky cherry, raspberry, red currant fruit, the funk has a pervasive dampness to it. Full-bodied, dense, the tannin is all resolved while the acidity remains good and brings liveliness. Biting orange to grapefruit citrus opens the palate for menthol, lavender, brioche, cocoa and pine notes. Full array of fruit from green apple and raspberry to red cherry and Italian plum. Has the good kind of turbulence to it like it has a lot to say in a short amount of time. Likely was never a fruit bomb in its youth.
