Light filminess to it, at this stage it's all fiery sunset reds and oranges, closer to yellow than purple, very good shine to the surface. The nose betrays its age, incense, dusty spiciness, cedar, saddle leather, modicum of sous bois dampness, the molasses dappled cherry, blackberry scents have shed weight and persistence but in no way dead. Medium-bodied, likewise here there's little doubt that concentration and intensity has been lost since youth. However, it does present a nicely matured array of that cedar, incense, coffee roast and potpourri that validates the trade off in plum, blackberry, black cherry fruit. Swells in the mid-palate with a nice perfume, albeit the finish is on the short side. Wouldn't hold any longer but not a disappointment.
