Scarlet to crimson in hue, the richness of the color likely lost in its full transparency, consistent to the outer rims, looks serious but not quite brooding, sparkly surface. Pleasing herbaceous and twiggy snap to the nose, penetrates quickly, fresh but too thick to be airy, blackberry and black cherry scents, indistinct citrus, appears at times to be mentholated, at other moments offers pickle brine. Medium-bodied, steadily expands outward, admirable structure as both the tannin and acidity firm it up but aren't party poopers. Verbena, lemon oil, brown earth and stone create a nice tug between being anchored and drifting upwards. The strawberry, raspberry, blueberry fruit as tart as sweet but fully ripe. Drinking very well now but arguably might even be better in 3-4 years hence to tease out more tertiary elements.
