Dark core but clean, crimson red to purple, consistent to the cores where it is slightly more reddish, great hue density throughout. While there's notes of olive tapenade, minerally earth and damp leather in the nose it's the boisterous cherry, dark berry fruit scents which steal the show, a few moments of toastiness but does not seem overtly oaky. Full-bodied and extremely polished, a great deal of thought and expense seems to have gone into it. The acidity seems "plus" level with weaker tannic support. Here too it's all about the fruit with raspberry, cherry, blackberry oozing into your mouth pores. Some leather and mild sous bois but does not display the breadth of the nose. Chocolate, caramel and butter more evident. Clearly not drinking much differently than on release, have to guess it would need at least 5-6 years to reveal its inner nature. 40% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 20% Carignan, 20% Cinsault.
