Ferrer Ribiere, Domaine
Languedoc/Roussillon, France
Vin de Pays des Cotes Catalanes
Empreinte de Temps
Unblemished, the purple core faded to a reddish black, the rims a fiery orange to red rust hue, indubitably an older wine. Poopy nose of merde, rubber band, damp metallic earth, moss and lichens, got it give it some time to blow off and moderate into lowkey cherry, plum fruit, matted straw and wildflowers, driftwood and tar. In the mouth it is medium bodied and much more pleasant, while rustic in profile no lack still of currant, cherry fruit with baking spices, white citrus zest and a certain mountain pine appeal as well. The stone, earth component dry and anchors things decisively. Tart finish with some acidity poking through. No lack of old vine character just probably best consumed ten years ago.
