Cuvee Louise Brut
The initial foam dissipates swiftly, not much of a mousse, somewhat dull yellow straw color, nothing visually unusual. Delicate floral nose, steady and silky musk with lemon curd, licorice, dried honey, freshly picked peach, apricot, pear scents, tactful. Light to medium-bodied with an insistent fizz which gets big and foamy in a fun but in no way clumsy manner. Reserved lemon, lime to tangerine citrus accompanied by well matched mint, anise, and savory herbs. Good richness to the apple, pear, persimmon fruit without sacrificing linearity. If its rambunctiousness settles down the underlying finer bones should come to the surface. 60% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir.
