2011 Altagracia Red Wine

This is a second label from Araujuo, Cabernet Sauvignon plus 4% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 2% Malbec. Bottom line up front: this is a beautiful example of a Napa Cab/blend. The nose has a faint but pretty element of plum. The palate shows dark cherry and plum notes, smoke, tobacco. The fruit balances beautifully with the perfectly resolved tannins and nice acidity. Moderately long finish of dark fruits and spice. Most importantly, this paired beautifully with grilled ribeye as well as with sautéed squash with oregano and marjoram fresh from Pat's garden. Ready to drink right now but it will hold for a few more years. Really nice stuff. "A"
