Dusky, filmy purple core, fully matured, the rims segue from red to orange to yellow, however, does not look all that aged per se. High-toned nose of cedar, sandalwood, damp leather, tobacco leaf, molasses and grill smoke, perfumed currant, cherry, blackberry fruit scents, great length and doing an impressive job of retaining fruit while allowing the developed tertiary elements to shine. Medium-bodied, loaded with cedar, tobacco, tea leaf, orange spice, menthol, iron flecks and damp black earth. Great sourness and bite without impeding the flow of the tart raspberry, boysenberry, blackberry fruit. Crazy leathery mid-palate. Really at its peak, the fruit still there and bursting with developed flavors. Unspecified percentages of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot.

[Always appreciate it when a humble wine overperforms and turns into one of the best wines tasted of late. In a perfect place.]
