2003 Merry Edwards Pinot Noir Windsor Gardens Vineyard

Just realized this will be my 1,000th post on WCWN (obviously I have nothing better to do with my time). Nothing better than to celebrate with an old friend. I've always loved the Merry Edwards Pinots and this one was a treat with dinner tonight. Deep notes of dark cherry on the nose. The palate belies its 15 years of age. The fruit is rich and vibrant. Black cherries, raspberries, licorice. Firm tannins and bright acidity. Long finish of cherries and spice. This wine tastes like a somewhat subdued infant. Vibrant and exuberant, but pulling it off with grace. This has at least another 5 years in front of it. A
