Chateau Puy-Blanquet Saint Emilion Grand Cru Bordeaux 2000

My last bottle of this gem-of-a-wine. Popped and left to gather itself together with a slow wake up of a couple of hours. Its ever lovely self shines with cherry, plum, black currant, mint, cassis, graphite and licorice. The mouthfeel lacks the weight of a New World Cab, of course, but nonetheless delivers a proper claret weight and loads of full flavors. The core’s color is that of a deep plum. Some sediment. 12.5% alc. With grilled lamb burgers. 08.25.18. Recommended.
