San Sebastiano allo Zoppo
The core is a muted and transparent purple, more rust red to zinc orange moving further out, vivid coloration. Syrupy cherry to raspberry fruit scents, suggesting a sweet wine, even the white grapefruit comes off juicy, more caramel than leather, light pine driven airiness, smells more modern than old school. Medium-bodied, the tannins feel stretched out thinly, more of a web than a blow. Candied cherry, raspberry fruit perfect replica of the nose except some green apple thrown in. Black licorice, grapefruit juice, but nothing in a "rugged" vein. Quite enjoyable to drink and certain to make friends among casual drinkers. But not the wine that geeks into Alto Piemonte want. Mainly Nebbiolo, some Vespolina.
