The purple has lasted well in the core, soft opacity to it, the rims a full crimson to brick red, youthful yet. Cedary nose with anise and potpourri notes, offers more by of a mentholated lift than citrusy zest, there's an inert character to the black cherry, plum fruit scents, not diminished, more like frozen in place. Full-bodied, has a pleasingly plump feel even though possessed yet of a decent tannic grip. Steady lift of pine, eucalyptus, menthol to lavender. The fruit is beginning to congeal into a stew of plum/prune, black currant and cherry fruit, sweet whereas probably had more sour bite long ago. That menthol, licorice stuff really helps it linger at the end. Sure, it's on the tired side but it's genial about it and no problem draining the bottle.
