2005 Elderton Command Shiraz

Still a dark red rim to rim. A pleasant nose of dark cherries and a hint of eucalyptus. Dark cherries and plums, a hint of cranberry on the palate. Smooth, polished tannins and decent acidity. A hint of pepper. The finish is long with dark fruits, but perhaps a touch too shrill. This is a very nice shiraz, but it could use a touch more acid on the palate and a bit softer finish. Overall, it has held up well and I can't see it fading over the next 3 to 5 years. B+
