1. Never had a wine from this producer before. The Triple "A" stands for "Agricultiore/Artigiani/Artisin" or some such..can't read the logo very well. The pics of the vnyds perched high above the Medditerrean are absolutley spectacular. Heroic viticulture. I would love to try their Sciacchetra..though it appears to be pretty pricey.
Bosco is a rare grape apparently indigenous to Liguria. Mostly found in blends in CinqueTerre. Rossese Bianco is another rare grape of Liguira but has no relation to the red Rossese nor the Grillo grape, as was once thought. Surprisingly, this variety is available from FPS, though it appears nobody has yet taken the plunge. BryanHarrington...right up your alley. Picabon is another variety found in Liguria and is often listed as a synonym for SauvBlanc. Albaro is more commonly known in Liguria as Albarolo. There is DNA evidence that Albarolo is identical to Bianchetta Genovese, but there is some evidence that they are not. Anyway...obviously these are grapes that should be being planted all up&down the Coast of Calif.
Anyway, an unusual/unique wine that was absolutely delicious and captures CinqueTerre. Thank you Stevie at BayGrape.
