Strangely enough, I think Mike's zins age better than his syrahs (although in general I like his syrahs a lot). A pleasant nose of plums. Plums, blueberries on the palate, but I don't find the fruit as bright as I would like. The tannins are still heavy, good acidity. It seems a bit hot (not enough to put me off, but it's there). The finish is short. Still a perfectly nice wine, but not one of Mike's best (at least at this point in time). Perhaps better a few years ago. B

Yup, Charlie....I'm starting to come to a similar conclusion. Had a couple of '12 Syrahs recently that I thought were moving right along. Still very good...but further along than I would have expected.
