2012 Janisson-Baradon Tue Boeuf Brut

After 8 days in California, we're back and into the old routine. Which means champagne on Friday night -- except it was Saturday this week. This was a very nice bottle. Yes, the vineyard name means "kill the beef" -- I'm told it's not that unusual a name in France for a vineyard. A beautiful nose of fresh bread dough. A plentiful bead. Yeasty on the palate with notes of tarragon, pepper and lemon zest. Vibrant acidity. Mellows on the finish with the yeasty element reasserting itself. 12% ABV. Very nice stuff. A-
