Tried this last night for my red:
1. Failla Syrah Estate/FortRoss-Seaview (13.8%; www.FaillaWines.com) StHElena 2011: Very dark color w/ slight bricking; beautiful c-c/cracked black pepper strong blackberry/Syrah/spicy/peppery strong w-c/black olive tapenade quite Rhonish/roasted/bit smokey/espresso quite aromatic/complex nose; fairly tart intense c-c/black pepper quite w-c/black olive tapenade/Rhonish/bit espresso/roasted strong blackberry/Syrah quite complex flavor w/ modest grippy tannins; very long/lingering fairly tart very strong blackberry/Syrah/spicy strong c-c/black pepper/black olive tapenade strong w-c/roasted/Rhonish/espresso quite complex finish w/ modest tannins; a beautiful complex classic c-c/Calif Syrah w/ loads of Rhonish character; probably approaching full maturity.
