Had this around Thanksgiving. Brick red, aromatic nose, complex, still going strong but definitely not going to improve from here. From a highly touted "modernist" vintage, this is a traditional style wine, and Marcarini has always been a long time favorite. Drink 'em if you got 'em. Grade: B+

2017 Vietti, Barbera d'Asti, "Tre Vigne". $17.99 retail. Big, rich healthy purple, almost black color, loaded with blackberry and spice, this is a fine Barbera for an unusually good price for this producer's "Tre Vigne". Grade: B+/A-.

2017 Vajra, Dolcetto d'Alba. $17.99 retail. I always like the Vajra wines, and this is no exception. A deep purple/red color, big spicy nose, lots of fruit and good juicy acidity, what is not to like? Grade: B+.
