1994 Cakebread Merlot Napa Valley

This has held up much better than I imagined it would. However, it's still not all that great. Red fruits on the nose. Soft red fruit on the palate, berries, little distinction. The tannins are soft (hardly there), decent acidity, fair balance. Finishes short. It's not totally shot, just no reason to drink it. It's worth noting that a 26 year old wine had almost no sediment, a tiny, very fine dusting was it. I imagine this was engineered as a cocktail wine. "C-"
