2009 Keplinger Lithic Amador County

Dark berry and licorice aromas. The fruit is smooth yet intense. Cherries, blueberries, anise, smoky notes. The cherry notes start to brighten and come forward with air. Rare roasted meat notes come in. Precise tannins, great acidity and balance. Finishes long with bright cherry notes. This wine got better and better as we drank. I'd decant this for about an hour. Could probably use 2 to 3 years to peak and could hold for another 5 years beyond that. 42% Grenache/34% Mourvedre/24% Syrah. "A"
