A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. This is a new producer for me. Located in the heart of Valpolicella region. The importer in ElPaso is a real mystery. Cannot find out anything about them.
The wine is made by separating out a fraction of the grapes, partially drying them to concentrate the sugar, then adding it to the remaining wine. The wine showed a bit of a Recioto-like character.
This, I believe, is a "natural" wine. They say nothing on their rather sparse WebSite about being natural. But it comes into NM from a distributor that specializes in natural wine. That said, it was perfectly clean, save for the overriding earthy/loamy character, and showed none of the natty signature. It's an authentic wine I'm certain SweetAlice would love.
