2008 Carlisle Petite Sirah California

Dark red color, opaque. Blackberry notes on the nose. Nice fruit, but monolithic -- blackberry, intense with no subtlety. Fine tannins, good acidity and balance. Finishes long and dark fruited. Perfectly fine wine but pretty much a one-note song. I don't see much development over the last 14 years and I'm guessing there won't be much to come. Not a clue as to how long it will drink well. I'll probably try and drink mine over the next 3 years. A blend of Dry Creek Valley and Napa fruit (hence the "California" designation). 15.9% ABV but in its favor, no detectable heat. "B"
