Dom.Blard & Fils Micraster AOC: Vin de Savoie Abymes (11.5%; 100% Jacquere; 50 yr old vines; Aged: 6 mo. in SS; StorkWineCompany; 2020: Med.light color; strong very fragrant floral/gardenias/Alpine white flowers slight stony/mineral high-toned quite perfumed nose; lightly tart strong Alpine white flowers/floral/gardenias light stony/mineral slight rich/lush complex flavor; very long/lingering strong perfumed/floral/Alpine white flowers/gardenias finish; a lovel classic Alpine white w/ lots of perfume; not as light/vapid as most Jacqueres; one of the better Jacqueres I can recall; almost Reisling in character; very well-priced at $22.00 (SFW&S)
2.Maison Philippe Viallet Ad'OP: Vin de Savoie Blanc (11.5%; Jacquère (majority)/Chasselas/Chardonnay/Altesse; Elenteny Imprts/NY) 2020: Med.light gold color; soe earthy/stony lightly floral/carnations bit simple nose; lightly tart bit thin/lean/eviscerated some earthy/chalky lightly floral/carnations bit simple flavor; med.long some earthy/chalky lightly floral/carnations finish; pleasant enough Savoie white but a bit on the dull side. $19.00 (SFW&S)
3. Dom.Baud Generation 9 Rouge Ancestral AC: Cotes du Jura (13%; 70% Trousseau/30% PinotNoir; GrapeExpectations/Richmond/CA) 2019: Med.light bit bricking color; strong earthy/loamy/dusty/OV some plummy/grapey bit mushroomy/leathery fairly interesting nose; soft quite loamy/earthy/dusty/OV some plummy/Trousseau/grapey flavor w/ light earthy/coarse tannins; med.long quite loamy/earthy/dusty light plummy/Trousseau/grapey somewhat rustic/coarse finish w/ light tannins; a quite earthy/loamy/terroir-driven rather rustic red that speaks of Jura Trousseau; a rustic peasant red that needs food. $22.00 (SFW&S)
More burtlespacker from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. I tend to like a lot of the Savoie whites. At their best, the have a strong fragrance that suggests white Alpine flowers/edelweiss w/ a light minerality. They typically are quite good values for a white. I really liked the Blard & thought it quite a good value.
