2009 Merry Edwards Pinot Noir Coopersmith Vineyard Russian River Valley

Dark red with some fading at the rim. Blackberries on the nose. More dark-fruited than most Merry Edwards Pinots. Black cherry, blackberry, raspberry. Fine tannins, excellent acidity, perhaps a touch of heat (14.4% ABV). Finishes long and fruity, candied cherries. Becomes redder fruited and sweeter with air. This has probably peaked and is starting downhill, but still quite nice. I'd drink these over the next 2 years. "B+"
