Had these two wines last night w/ DinDin. It was not a good scene.
1. Ryme RibollaGialla VeraVnyd/NapaVlly (13.9%) Forestville 2010: Deep amber color w/ slight bricking; quite resiny/VM some oxidative/nutty slight earthy/mousey some complex nose; bit soft somewhat oxidative/nutty/maderized fairly resiny/VM slight unclean/mousey somewhat bitter no RG fruit flavor w/ light bitter tannins; med.long rather oxidative/nutty/bit sherry some resiny/VM somewhat bitter no RG fruit slight muusey/unclean finish; clearly a VM but not one that has matured very well; not anything like the His Vermentino would be like; resembles some a Jura Vin Jaune; gets a bit better as it warms up but a rare Ryme fail.

2. WindGap Syrah SonomaCoast (12 1/2%; #1639; 18 brls/420 cs) WineGapWines/Sebastapol 2012: Med.dark color w/ some browning; strong w-c/Rhonish/roaste/smokey slight espresso/wet wool/wet Army blanket slight blackberry/Syrah complex somewhat interesting if a bit tired nose; bit soft strong Rhonish/w-c/smokey/espresso some wet Army blanket very slight blackberry/Syrah rather tired/dried out somewhat interesting flavor w/ light bit drying tannins; med.long strong Rhonish/w-c/espresso very slight Syrah/blackberry some complex finish w/ light tannins; dominated by the w-c/Rhonish character; some interesting things therein but pretty much on its last legs.

More gipplestreak from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. Two big fails last night. As I retasted these, I kept hearing these squeaky voices from a Bedrock & a Carlisle box over in the corner..."drink me....no...drink me", but I ignored them and wrapped it up for the evening.
