2004 Carlisle Syrah Dry Creek Valley
Dark red, fading to the edges. Aromas of blueberry and blackberry. Intense fruit on the palate but not harsh. Blueberries, blackberries, anise. Fine, firm tannins, good acidity and balance. Finishes long and dark-fruited. Develops a jammy character (not a bad thing) with 30 minutes of air. Gets better and better as it sits in the glass. Very nice and in no danger of fading. I'd drink over the next 4 to 5 years. "A-"
