1. Forlorn-Hope Dragone Ramato PinotGris RorickVnyd/CalaverasCnty (11.07%; 25 cs) Fairfield 2013: Med.light garnet color; some VM/phenolic/skin-contact quite fragrant PG/floral/gardenias/rose petal slight graham cracker/earthy rather complex quite lovely nose; quite tart/tangy light VM/resiny/phenolic some floral/PG/gardenias/rather rose petal bit strawberry slight earthy/graham cracker/nutty rather complex quite smooth/graceful flavor w/ very slight tannic bite; very long slight VM/phenolic slight earthy/graham cracker quite pretty/floral/PG/rose petal/gardenias rather complex finish w/ light tannins; has shed all of the harsh/austere VM character of its youth & turned into a lovely/mature stunning Ramato.
2. Forlorn-Hope SanHercurmer Delle Frecce Barbera ShakeRidgeVnyd/AmadorCnty (13.93%; 97 cs) Fairfield 2013: Very dark color w/ some bricking; some cedary/pencilly/oldRed some Barbera/spicy/pizza spices/dried Italian herbs bit earthy slight ripe/jammy/Amador/briary bit herbal/haymow/fresh cut hay some complex light pencilly/oak somewhat interesting nose; quite tart/tangy some pencilly/cedary/oldRed light Barbera/spicy/pizza spices some earthy/dusty flavor w/ sharp tangy tannins; med.long rather tart some pencilly/cedary/oldRed slight Barbera/dried Italian herbs slight Amador/briary finish w/ light drying tannins; speaks of Barbera & Amador but moving right along & starting to fade.

1. I was mightly impressed by the evolution of the Ramato. It was very harsh/austere/tannic in its youth w/ precious little PG fruit. It has changed to a lovely very perfumed PGw/ little VM character.
