2010 Walter Hansel Pinot Noir Estate Vineyards Russian River Valley
My last bottle was almost 2 years ago, and it was disappointing. This bottle (my last) is better but also definitely fading. Rosy red, translucent color. Floral notes on the nose with some red berries. Precise and detailed on the palate, strawberry, raspberry, warm spice. With air it became a bit primary. Fine tannins, acidity is a bit harsh after an initial impression of brightness. Good balance. Finishes moderately long with sharp cherry notes. Still quite nice but I think it's not long for this world. It started to fall apart in the glass after about 30 minutes. Drink up. "B-"
